Medly of MADNESS

HH Carter lol
Because I am a geek, I've spend the past hour downloading FFVII midis, and then being disappointed that while I can put them in a playlist in Windows Media Player they won't show up in the overall list because WMP DISCRIMINATES AGAINST MIDIS. But it's so much fun listening to them, and remembering what happened when. I also just like some of the music for fun. The JENOVA fight music, for instance, gets me really excited and energetic. It's always fun at work if I'm doing some boring task to have it suddenly be in my head and get all pumped (I'm going to DO these dishes!) So right now I'm listening to a whole bunch of it in order to try to get myself to work more on my MGS/HP crossover. I WILL write this fic, goshdarnit.

Last night my roommate was watching various movies which I was not really enthusiastic about so I borrowed her laptop to be able to write while "watching" them, but then I GOT SUCKED IN. Although, in my peasily (is this even a word?) defense, I didn't actually have any conception of what they were about. First we watched Superman Returns which I had been really against because I thought it was just a remake of the old Superman movies and come on, they were CLASSIC. Well, okay, maybe not, but they were certainly not bad enough to merit a remake. But then it wasn't a remake, so that was okay. And I enjoyed it fine. Some things about it really got to me (in what world is that version of Lois Lane an amazing reporter? All she did was ask demented questions at annoying times, which while it may be the mark of A reporter, is not necessarily the mark of a GOOD reporter) but overall I liked it, I guess. And then we watched The Boondock Saints, a movie which I had no idea at all of the plot. It turned out to be about Irish vigilante justice. I found the ethics pretty disturbing, but enjoyed the movie. I was disappointed that there wasn't more of a supernatural element to it, though. This is a frequent source of disappointment to me, it struck in Volver as well. Obviously I should just stick to watching Sci-Fi/Fantasy movies.

In related news, apparently they're making a MGS movie. This amuses me quite a bit. I was pretty freaked out when I first heard, but having thought about it a bit, I think it could be pretty good, as long as it doesn't turn into The Terminator or something. (Oh no the creepy Sephiroth music just came on RUN FOR YOUR BRAINS.) So here for the first time in ... possibly ever is a movie that I'm looking forward to (which is not a sequel to something). Well, okay, that's probably a lie. I looked forward to Lord of the Rings (and then there was pain. Hopefully this is not an omen of things to come). (Oh no MORE creepy Sephiroth music. AM I REAL? ARE YOU REAL? ARE YOU MY MOTHER?)

So, yeah. I'm going to go and write bad fanfiction now, with the happy "world crisis" music to accompany me. This is not as depressing as it sounds. Oh, wait, I lied. It just turned into RUN FOR YOUR LIFE music. Haha, good times. Song for the entry: J-E-N-O-V-A. On a related note, I totally drew Jenova in my notes the other day. Just her/its head, though. I WILL TRY HARDER NEXT TIME.
